Poem / Photo

PhotoPoem002

Years ago when I was a teen I began to write poetry for myself about the girls I’d met so far in my short life. When I was twenty-one (21) and was driving to Canada I stayed in state parks and national ones. In my travels I met a number of young women that liked my poetry and wanted me to wait while they copied it down. Naturally I waited while they copied the poems and wondered how they liked them enough to do all that work in copying by hand my words. It made me feel incredibly proud that my words had touched them and that our minds had met and blended for this moment. I still write and now I can add my images to my words to create a fuller image of who and what I mean…, and I still wonder.
